1. About these terms

These terms and conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our website at 4x4response.uk (the "Website"). The Website is operated by 4×4 Response UK ("we", "us", "our"), a volunteer-led charity registered in England and Wales (charity number 1168451).

Please read these Terms carefully before using the Website. By accessing or using the Website you confirm that you accept these Terms and agree to comply with them. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Website.

2. Emergencies

The Website is not a means of requesting emergency assistance. In an emergency, always dial 999. Requests for 4×4 support are coordinated through the emergency services and statutory agencies, not through this Website. We do not monitor the Website for urgent or time-critical requests and cannot guarantee any response to messages sent through it.

3. Changes to these terms

We may revise these Terms at any time by amending this page. Please check this page from time to time to take notice of any changes, as they are binding on you. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when these Terms were most recently changed.

4. Using our website

You may use the Website for lawful purposes only and in accordance with these Terms. We do not guarantee that the Website, or any content on it, will always be available or be uninterrupted. We may suspend, withdraw or restrict the availability of all or any part of the Website for operational or other reasons at any time without notice.

You are responsible for making all arrangements necessary for you to have access to the Website, and for ensuring that anyone who accesses the Website through your internet connection is aware of these Terms and complies with them.

5. Prohibited uses

You agree not to use the Website:

  • in any way that breaches any applicable local, national or international law or regulation;
  • in any way that is unlawful or fraudulent, or has any unlawful or fraudulent purpose or effect;
  • to send, knowingly receive, upload, download, use or re-use any material which does not comply with our content standards;

  • to knowingly transmit any data or material that contains viruses, or any other harmful programs or code designed to adversely affect the operation of any computer software or hardware; or
  • to gain unauthorised access to, interfere with, damage or disrupt any part of the Website, the server on which it is stored, or any server, computer or database connected to it.

We will report any breach of these restrictions to the relevant law enforcement authorities where appropriate.

Unless otherwise stated, we (or our licensors) own the intellectual property rights in the Website and in all material published on it, including the "4×4 Response" name, logos, text, graphics and layout. These works are protected by copyright and other laws. All such rights are reserved.

You may print off one copy, and may download extracts, of any page(s) from the Website for your personal use. You must not modify the paper or digital copies of any materials you have printed or downloaded, and you must not use any illustrations, photographs or graphics separately from any accompanying text. You must not use any part of the content on the Website for commercial purposes without obtaining a licence to do so from us.

7. User-submitted content

Where the Website allows you to submit information (for example through a contact or enquiry form), you are responsible for the content you provide. You must ensure that anything you submit is accurate, lawful, and does not infringe the rights of any other person.

By submitting content you grant us a non-exclusive right to use, store and process it for the purpose of responding to you and administering the charity's activities. We may remove or refuse to act on any submission at our discretion. Personal information submitted through the Website is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Information on the Website about volunteering or membership is provided for general guidance. Applying to volunteer or become a member through the Website does not create any binding obligation on us to accept you, and any membership is subject to our separate membership arrangements, eligibility requirements and vetting as applicable.

Any donations made to us are voluntary. Where donations are taken through the Website, payments are processed by a third-party payment provider, and your use of that service may be subject to the provider's own terms. If you believe a donation has been made in error, please contact us and we will consider the matter in good faith.
